As part of a three-night incentive travel program on Sea Island, Georgia, MTG was tasked with creating a distinctive evening experience that would feel both elevated and relaxed for our client’s incentive winners.
For the program’s second night, our objective was to move beyond a traditional group dinner and design an experience that took full advantage of the destination. The evening needed to combine exceptional food and beverage, local character, entertainment, and opportunities for guests to connect—all within an intimate and memorable setting.
The Boathouse Experience “Beverages, Boating & Bites”
MTG selected Frederica Boathouse, as the setting for this signature evening, drawn to its secluded lakeside location, Adirondack-style architecture, and inviting indoor and outdoor spaces. From concept development and venue selection through transportation, culinary planning, entertainment, décor, activities, and guest experience, MTG designed and coordinated every element of the evening.
Guests arrived via private motor coach and were welcomed to sweeping views of the lake and pool. On the lawn, guests posed for photographs against the picturesque backdrop, with the images later presented in branded frames as keepsakes from the evening.
Working with the culinary team, MTG created a menu that complemented the relaxed Southern setting. The evening began with an oyster roast around the fire pit and passed hors d'oeuvres, including fried okra with ancho chili dipping sauce and pecan chicken salad crostini.
Rather than moving directly to dinner, guests were invited to experience the property at their own pace. Handcrafted wooden boats offered leisurely cruises around the lake, while a blind-bourbon tasting and friendly games of cornhole provided additional opportunities to mingle, explore, and enjoy the setting.
As the sun began to set, guests transitioned into the boathouse for a four-course dinner. MTG selected linens and florals to enhance the room's natural character.
A Charleston Father-and-Son guitar-violin duo provided live music throughout the dinner, creating the perfect soundtrack for the lakeside setting. Following dessert, the blind-bourbon tasting winner was announced and guests relaxed on the porch, gathered around the fireplace, or strolled the outdoor deck, savoring after-dinner cordials amidst the tranquil lake backdrop.

The result was more than an evening event. “Beverages, Boating & Bites” became a destination experience within the larger incentive program—thoughtfully designed to give guests time to celebrate, connect, and enjoy Sea Island in a way that felt personal, effortless, and memorable.
