Feeling Stressed? We Can Help!

March 9, 2016

April is Stress Awareness Month

It's probably no coincidence that Stress Awareness Month is the same month as tax day. This year National Public Health Week is April 4-10 and their aim is to make America the healthiest nation by 2030. This is a great opportunity to encourage wellness in your organization and your community. Wellness programs reduce health costs, and increase employee morale and engagement.

Meeting Logistics can help you kick off a wellness program with promotional fitness products like shaker cups, frisbees, jump ropes and Fitbits and help you develop health- centered incentive events and activities for your team. We can also help you plan wellness retreats, offsite meetings or team building events.

Here are some ideas for stress relief:

Paint and sip night

Bring your favorite bottle of wine and prepare yourself for a relaxed, fun filled social experience. Unleash your inner artist, have lots of laughs and take home your creation at the end of the night. Paint and sip classes are quickly becoming the new night out for couples, friends and corporate events.

Exercise

Following a regular exercise program is a great way to relieve stress. Restorative yoga offers a soothing experience, designed to completely relax your body. It's about slowing down and opening the body through stretching. Tai Chi is a meditative series of movements designed to connect the mind and body and foster a sense of calm and serenity. Qi Gong focuses on the repetition of one movement at a time.

Music

Music has the ability to quickly shift our mood, affecting our subconscious mind where negative thoughts cause stress. Listening to music is an inexpensive, quick solution that's almost always available. Also remember to play music on your commute to and from work. Keep a collection of music that helps you de-stress, release tension, or lift your spirits.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential plant oils to improve well-being. The oils are often placed in diffusers and allowed to permeate the air. It's a practice that's been used for centuries to address psychological and other issues. Some of the most popular essential oils are: peppermint, lavender, jasmine, chamomile, and lemongrass.

Adult Coloring Books

Coloring books are no longer just for children. Adult coloring books are all the rage right now. Just like meditation, coloring also allows us to switch off our brains from other thoughts and focus only on the moment.
