The impact of an Incentive Program finale night is of the utmost importance and it has to meet and exceed your client’s expectations. Dealing with a smaller group that all know each other well, our client really wanted a high-quality experience blended with casual flair. Our client loved the idea of theming the night as "A Sweet Georgia Celebration Dinner".
I remember the day I visited The Ocean Room at The Cloister for the first time. I spent a long time taking in the tall, arched windows, the unique shape of the room and the Sea Island beach; the venue, inside and out and envisioning how I wanted to blend the genuine warmth of the resort into the finale celebratory event. I wanted to take advantage of the architecture of the room and the color palette of the landscape while allowing the atmosphere to be driven by the guests enjoying the simplicity of the beautiful coastal locale.
The evening started with oceanfront cocktails and delectable hors d’oeuvres. We selected a soft color palette for the event, blush pink and pale sage green, colors that bring a peaceful and calm feeling. Silver lace linens on high and low top tables, combined with groupings of specialty lounge furniture brought soft color and relaxed seating to the natural décor of the patio area. Simple mason jar centerpieces, candles, a firepit and string lighting illuminated the atmosphere.
The Ocean Room itself is grand and we decided on long estate tables with black Chiavari’s chairs, beige chain linens, soft metallic napkins and gorgeous greenery table runners accented with pops of soft pink roses to create a warm inviting yet elegant feel. Working with a top-notch catering team, we developed a mouth-watering seated plated menu of she crab chowder, grilled avocado and tomato salad, delicious, braised Kobe beef short ribs and crispy fried lobster tail matched with perfect wines to satisfy every appetite. We set up dessert stations out on the patio providing guests the opportunity to stretch their legs, extend conversations and enjoy the luxurious desserts at their leisure.
Playing off of the sweet Georgia theme, nostalgic treats like peach hand pies topped with vanilla ice cream, bourbon caramel, warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream, salty caramel corn and assorted homemade doughnuts, were the perfect finale of three delightful days of incredible experiences.
