Destination Happenings – Nashville, Tennessee

Why we love it: Music City is singing a new tune. Nashville has a brand-new convention center (see video here)
and a slew of new or refreshed hotels and venues. The Music City Center opened in May 2013. It is located just south of Broadway in downtown Nashville on a 16-acre site adjacent to both the Bridgestone Arena and Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  Adjacent to the center, an Omni is slated to open this Fall with 800 guest rooms and 80,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.

What is really exciting is that this October, Meeting Logistics is managing a special Songwriters Event in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Songwriters Events gained their popularity because of The Bluebird Café and we are really excited to be managing a special private acoustic event of this caliber for our clients during their stay in Nashville! Our group is staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. The property features 2,881 rooms and 600,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The venue is adjacent to the Grand Ole Opry House, the current home for the legendary Grande Ole Opry show. Marriott International acquired Gaylord Entertainment Company this past May and also now manages three Nashville attractions, the General Jackson Showboat, Gaylord Springs Golf Links, and Wildhorse Saloon. Other Hotel options include Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, The Hutton Hotel and The Hermitage Hotel. The Nashville International Airport (BNA) is located about eight miles from downtown Nashville and offers service to and from Toronto, Canada and major cities across the U.S.
